Katadyn BeFree Water Filtration SystemIf you’ve ever been to a country where you can’t drink the tap water, you know how frustrating, expensive, and unsustainable it is to buy bottled water all the time. With the Katadyn BeFree water bottle, you can drink tap water or water from rivers and streams! It not only filters the water as you drink it, but it also collapses so when it’s empty, it doesn’t take up very much space. It’s the perfect water bottle for traveling!

Patagonia Women's Triolet RaincoatThis has kept me (Sara) dry many times including in the Amazon rainforest, skiing at the end of the world (in Ushuaia, Argentina), climbing to Mount Fitz Roy using sharp rocks as ice picks, and in down pours in Central America's rainy season. It uses GORE-TEX which I understand from Patagonia has "rugged" performance. It's not only waterproof but also windproof. One of the best things is the double breast chest pockets because I can carry lots of stuff but also keep my hands in the lower pockets. The zippers are all watertight too. Overall the best raincoat I've ever owned. Note: this link is only to an XL size in grey, but I have a smaller size in teal.

Arcteryx Women's Atom LT JacketOne of my (Sara) favorite things I've ever bought. I mean, not only is purple sooooo my color, but it keeps me warm! I get cold very easily, and this helps with the temperature as well as the wind. It's breathable, so I can wear it comfortably while hiking in Patagonia. It has a hidden zipper inside as well for anything you want to hide while traveling. Best thing about it is how lightweight it is and how it packs down. Great travel gear!
