Denver & Boulder, CO

I've been told that Colorado is the real Sunshine State.  Florida claims that name for their license plates, but in reality, it thunderstorms all the freaking time in FL.  Colorado's claim to fame is that it is sunny 300 days of the year.

When I fact checked this, it's more like Denver has an average of 245 days with sun (115 days sunny & 130 days partly sunny), and Orlando has an average of 236 days with sun, but only 89 of those days are fully sunny (147 days were partly sunny).  But either way - weather seems nice in Colorado.

I've also determined that I love the mountains.  I imagine taking Indiana Bones & Kilianjaro on lots of hikes around Colorado.  I would maybe miss the beach, but you can lead such an active lifestyle out here.  And you can see the mountains from the city!  It's incredible.  I mean, it's normal for some people, but growing up in FL and then living in Atlanta, you just don't see that!

We stayed with some friends in Denver (a shout out and thank you to how awesome they are for letting us crash with them and showing us around), and we also drove up to Boulder to spend some time there for a day.  I think they are pretty similar, and I'd live in either, but I wouldn't want to commute from one to the other.  We'll just see where our careers take us, I guess.

This picture is actually from Golden, CO which is close to Denver.  We love our Chacos -- I actually bought mine (the first pair I've ever owned) on May 31, 2014.  That's the day that Colin and I became "officially g/f & b/f" in Asheville, NC.  I wear them ALL THE TIME and they are still going strong almost 3 years later.

I'm blogging at The Source right now which reminds me of Krog Street Market in Atlanta.  From its website, The Source is "an artisan food market that occupies a former 1880‘s brick foundry building in Denver’s River North District. - a collective of food artisans and retailers offering visitors everything from freshly baked bread to craft cocktails, from street tacos to contemporary flower arrangements."  If you need to get some work done while traveling through Denver, I'd highly encourage you to stop here.  While it's not the cheapest, there is plenty of space and free wifi.
