Kansas City, Missouri

After having visited Kansas City, it's now on the list of potential cities to settle down in.  However, previously to actually visiting, I really had no idea what to expect.  Just having "Kansas" in the name of it made me think of corn fields (maybe?  Does Kansas grow corn?).  And I'm not great with geography to start with, so wrapping my head around which state Kansas City is in was hard too (it is on the border of Missouri and Kansas, but the main part of the city is actually in Missouri -- tricky, tricky).  ​

There is a lot to do and some really cool / hip areas, but there are also houses with YARDS that aren't too far out of the city.  Whenever I think of a place to live in, I think of how hard it would be to have 12 dogs.  I could see us having a bunch of pups in Kansas City.  Many thanks to Neil (a connection from Colin's mom) who gave us a tour around the city.  He is very knowledgeable about the area, and he answered a ton of our questions :)

We went to a few different breweries while we were there.  I liked Boulevard Brewing Company because the atmosphere was fun and it had a lot of space and places to sit.  We also tried a couple of different BBQ places.  Arthur Bryant's is the most well known, and we waited in line for an hour to get our food at the front.  It did not disappoint -- the sandwiches were HUGE, and I could only finish half of mine.  However, I do prefer the BBQ in the South compared to the BBQ in KC.  I think it mostly comes from my wanting of collard greens and mac 'n' cheese -- KC BBQ seems to be meat, bread, pickles, and fries.  Still a tasty meal though for sure!
