We saw the largest tree in the world, General Sherman. This sequoia tree is about 2,200 years old; weighs 1,385 tons; ; is 275 feet tall; and has a circumference of 103 feet. It's not the tallest or the widest living tree, but it has the most volume and weight which makes it the "largest" living tree in the world. This park was much less crowded than Yosemite, but I found that people were very disrespectful in this park. More so than I feel like I've seen at the other national parks we've been to. There are signs everywhere saying to stay on the maintained trails in order to give vegetation a chance to grow and avoid erosion. However, people were walking off the path to take pictures at every place I looked. I said something to a few of them, but Colin gets embarrassed, so he didn't want me to say too much. I was so upset though that it completely ruined the park for me. It's so beautiful too, so it's really a shame. We also drove through a tunnel through a tree. Pretty impressive park!
